After the quiz

You know your season. So why do you keep buying the wrong colors?

Finding your sub-season is step one. The hard part comes next: using it, every single day.

  • You buy a color that’s almost right

A beige a little too yellow, a pink a little too cool. In the store, it passes. On you, people see the clothes before they see you.

  • You’re not sure which basics are really yours

The racks keep offering the same basics. Yours have a name, a code and a place in your wardrobe:

    BlackPure WhiteSilver GrayNavy
  • Torn between Bright Winter and Bright Spring?

Both seasons need very bright colors. Bright Spring is warmer, Bright Winter cooler. The guide gives you a two-color test to settle it at home.

  • A full closet, and nothing to wear

You own pieces, but not outfits. You wear the same three over and over, and the rest waits on its hanger.

The most common mistakes for a Bright Winter

  1. 1

Wearing black alone. On you, it needs a dazzling color or pure white next to it.

  2. 2

Hiding in beige and taupe: those are the colors that erase you the most.

  3. 3

Going for a completely nude makeup look. A bold lip or a bold eye suits you better.

The full guide covers 6 mistakes, each with the color to wear instead. See a taste with your colors

In practice

What the guide changes, day to day

Three moments when you wonder what to do. Each gets an answer, and the chapter that gives it.

  1. In the store

You stop buying things you never wear.

Hold your phone with your swatch card next to the garment. If it blends in without anyone noticing, it’s for you. If it jumps out, put it back.

    • A pocket swatch card to keep on your phone
    • An in-store method, in three questions
    • The words to read on a label: the good signals and the stop signals

Chapter 2 Your complete paletteChapter 4 Your capsule wardrobe

  2. At your closet

    You get dressed without thinking.

Check off what you already own and buy only what’s missing. Every piece goes with at least three others, so in the morning, everything pairs.

    • 20 pieces in your palette, all compatible with each other
    • 10 outfits: office, weekend, evening, workout, special occasions
    • What you already own: how to wear it without buying everything again

Chapter 4 Your capsule wardrobeChapter 5 Pairings that work

  3. At the salon and the makeup counter

You know what to ask for.

“Something natural” doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone. You get the exact words to say, and swatches to show.

    • What to tell your colorist, and what to show them
    • 3 makeup looks you can redo
    • No brands: product lines change, shades stay

Before you buy

Not sure you’re a Bright Winter?

The free quiz gives you a likely season and a first hint of your sub-season, not a verdict. The right guide beats two guides that almost fit.

Take the free quiz

Who it’s for

Who it’s for, and who should take the quiz first

A guide only helps if it lands at the right moment. Here’s how to tell if it’s yours.

Made for you if…

  • you’ve found your sub-season, or you’re close and want to confirm it
  • you’re tired of buying clothes you never wear
  • you want a wardrobe where everything goes with everything
  • you want to know what to tell your colorist and what to look for at the makeup counter
  • you want your colors on your phone, in the store

Not for you yet if…

  • you don’t know your sub-season: start with the free quiz, then read the free pages of the sub-seasons it points to
  • you’re looking for a test: the guide assumes you know your sub-season. It shows you how to wear it, it doesn’t determine it
  • you’re looking for a list of products or brands: the guide has none. Product lines change, shades stay
  • you only want your starting colors: your free Bright Winter page is enough

Whose method this is

Lisa Routa

French color analyst and founder of Ihana. Every guide follows her 12-season method: twelve seasons are enough to be precise, and few enough to stay clear.

  • Featured in the French newspaper Le Monde in January 2026 (the article is in French)
  • The 12-season method, not 16
  • Every skin tone, in every season

FAQ

Bright Winter guide: your questions

What’s the difference between the guide and the free Bright Winter page?

The free page gives you your 20 colors, 3 outfits, 8 wardrobe pieces and makeup pointers. The guide adds your complete palette sorted into light, medium, dark and accents with a pocket swatch card, 10 outfits, 20 pieces with a shopping list to check off, 3 makeup looks you can redo, and a two-color test to check your sub-season. If you only want to know your colors, the free page is enough.

What if I’m not sure of my sub-season?

Don’t buy a guide blind. A quiz or an app gives a first hint, not a verdict: we judge colors by our own taste, and neighboring sub-seasons look alike. Take the free quiz, read the free pages of the sub-seasons it points to, then choose. The guide includes a test you can do at home, but it can’t replace a trained eye.

Does the guide replace a color analysis?

No. The guide assumes you already know your sub-season: it shows you how to wear it, it doesn’t determine it. A guide can’t see your skin react to a color, and that reaction is what settles a sub-season.

Which sub-season is the neighbor of Bright Winter?

Bright Spring. Both seasons need very bright colors. Bright Spring is warmer, Bright Winter cooler. Analysts also call a neighboring season a “sister season”. If you’re torn between the two, the pair of guides covers both, so you can try both palettes at home before you rebuild your closet.

What color season is cool olive skin typically in?

There isn’t a typical one. Olive skin shows up in all four seasons, and skin tone alone never settles a season. A cool undertone points toward Summer or Winter and a warm one toward Spring or Autumn, but lightness, intensity and contrast decide the rest. That’s why a guide should start by confirming your sub-season instead of assuming it.

How is the guide delivered, and can I print it?

The guide is a PDF you download once you’ve bought it. It’s designed to be read on a phone, and you can print it too. Printed colors vary with your printer and your screen, so use the hex codes in the guide as your reference when you compare.

Is the guide for men too?

Yes. The palette, the neutrals and the contrast rule apply to everyone, and the guide includes a page on men’s wardrobes: suit, shirt, tie, leather, watch. For a Bright Winter man: a black or navy suit, pure white shirt, an electric blue, bright pink or emerald tie or sweater. Maximum contrast is your ally.

Why one guide per sub-season, not one for my whole season?

Because the method has 12 sub-seasons: twelve are enough to be precise, and few enough to stay clear. Two sub-seasons of the same season don’t share the same colors, and that’s where your purchases are won or lost.

When does the guide come out?

I don’t have a date to give you today. Leave your email in the form at the top of the page and you’ll hear from us the day it’s out. Joining the waitlist doesn’t commit you to anything.
