Navy, gray, black, white: are your safe bets really safe?
Feeling good in your clothes starts with the color near your face. It gets hard when:
Your closet fits in four words: navy, gray, black, white.
One shirt makes you look rested. Another makes you look tired, and you can’t say why.
People ask if you’re tired when you slept fine.
You buy a suit, a tie or a pair of frames without knowing if the color works on you.
What if one method told you which navy, which gray and which white are yours?
How do you find your sub-season?
Three steps, all from home.
Step 1: Take the free quiz
Ten questions, two minutes, no sign-up. Swap the lipstick question for a shirt or a sweater in those two colors. It names a likely season: a first hint, not a verdict.
Your partAnswer ten questions.
Step 2: Check it by a window
Hold two plain pieces under your chin in daylight, hair covered: one warm like camel or rust, one cool like denim blue or blue gray. Watch your jaw and the skin under your eyes.
Your partTry a warm piece and a cool piece.
Step 3: Read your page, then your guide
Your sub-season page gives the palette, makeup, hair and jewelry advice. The PDF guide goes further and includes a page on men’s wardrobes: suit, shirt, tie, leather, watch.
Your partPick your sub-season and your guide.
The step-by-step version is in color draping at home and in color analysis for men. A quiz can’t see your skin react to colors: it’s a first hint.
What a man’s wardrobe looks like, sub-season by sub-season
Pick a sub-season. The board shows the shirt, suit, tie and knit colors drawn from its palette, plus the hair tones and the metals. It’s an example, not your result: only your own skin tells you your sub-season.

What changes for a man, piece by piece
The palette is the same for everyone. Here is where you use it.
Suit and coat
The dark that flatters you: navy, gray, chocolate, charcoal or black. A suit is big but far from your face, so it comes after the shirt.
Color analysis for menShirts, knits and turtlenecks
The pieces that frame your face count most: the right white, the right blue, the right green. That’s where your color works.
Ties and pocket squares
Your signature color on a small surface. It’s where you can dare without risk, because the rest of the outfit stays calm.
Hair and beard
The tones that go with your palette, golden or ash, and the words to tell your barber or colorist before you color.
Hair color for menWatch, frames and metal
Gold or silver, matte or shiny. The metal near your eyes counts more than the one on your wrist.
Gold or silverYour neutrals
Black, white, beige, gray: each sub-season has its own versions. You find out which to keep and which to swap.
Neutral colors by season
Deeper dives: autumn colors for men, winter colors for men and hair color for men.

Color palette for men: your questions
Is color analysis different for men?
The method is the same: four seasons, twelve sub-seasons and three axes (temperature, lightness and intensity). Your face reacts to color the way anyone’s does. What changes is the wardrobe: shirts, suits, ties, knits, leather and a watch.
How do I find my season as a man?
Start with the free quiz. Swap the lipstick question for a shirt or a sweater in those two colors. It names a likely season, a first hint and not a verdict. Then hold two plain pieces under your chin in daylight, one warm and one cool, and watch your skin. If it’s still unclear, redo the test on another day.
Can I wear black if my sub-season says to skip it?
Nothing is off-limits. Wear black away from your face, on your lower half, or swap it for the softer shade your sub-season gives you. If your job needs a black or navy suit, keep it and put your color on the shirt or the tie.
Does my hair color or my beard decide my season?
No. Nobody is typed from a single trait: black hair doesn’t make you a Winter, and red hair doesn’t make you an Autumn. Cover your hair while you test and watch what your skin does with the colors.
Does this work for every skin tone?
Yes. Every skin tone shows up in all four seasons. What decides is how your skin responds to color, not its shade.
Do the guides include men’s advice?
Yes. Each guide includes a page on men’s wardrobes: suit, shirt, tie, leather, watch. The palette, the neutrals and the contrast rule apply to everyone.
Do I have to buy a whole new wardrobe?
No. Start with what’s already in your palette. Wear the rest away from your face, then replace it as it wears out. Begin with the shirt: it’s the piece closest to your face.
What if I’m between two sub-seasons?
It’s common. Neighboring sub-seasons share one trait and differ on another, which is why people mix them up. Each sub-season page names its neighbor and shows how to tell the two apart. Redo your home test on another day before you trust it.
