Winter sub-season · also called Cool Winter
The heart of Winter: icy, pure colors with no warmth at all.

True Winter is purity.
Your defining trait is coolness. No warm color finds favor on you.
You look best in clear, blue-leaning colors: royal blue, fuchsia, emerald, and the black-and-white duo. Icy colors, almost white, suit you very well too.
True Winter is the heart of the Winter season. It borders Cool Summer: the same coolness, but more saturated and higher in contrast.
Your colors are pure and icy. Think of a snowy landscape under a blue sky: white, black, bright blue, red berries.

Head to head
Both seasons are very cool. Cool Summer is softer and lower in contrast, True Winter more saturated and crisper.
The two-color test. In daylight, with no makeup, hold a piece of fabric in each of these two colors up to your face. The one that evens out your complexion and brings out your eyes is your answer. The one that deepens your dark circles or makes you look tired is not yours.
| Sub-season | Temperature | Lightness | Intensity | Contrast | Signature color |

For everyone
Any skin tone can be a True Winter. Deep, medium or fair, with a warm, cool or olive undertone: what decides is how your skin reacts when colors are held up to your face.
For a True Winter man: a black, navy or steel gray suit, white shirt, a royal blue, raspberry or emerald tie.
The method is the same for everyone: the pieces change, not the colors.

Questions
Compare a pure fuchsia and a softened raspberry. If the fuchsia wakes you up and the raspberry looks bland on you, you’re a True Winter.
It’s rare, but possible. Hair color isn’t enough to rule out a season.
Keep Orange, Mustard, Warm Brown and Khaki away from your face. Too warm: they turn your skin yellow and blur your natural contrast.
Silver, platinum, white gold. Diamond, sapphire, emerald.
Black, cool brown, ashy dark brown. Gray or white hair looks superb on you.
Raspberry, fuchsia, blue-toned red. Cool reds are your reds.
