These details are copied from the legal notice of the French site of the same business. They are the only ones we have. The empty lines are listed at the end of this page.

What this site does with your data today

The site is simple: there are no accounts, no comments and no payments. Here is everything that touches personal data.

When you sign up by email. The free guide, your quiz result and the guide waitlist use a short form. We receive your email address and the name of the form you used. If you come from the quiz, your result goes with it: your likely season, your second season if the quiz hesitated between two, your sub-season hint and the guide you are waiting for.

The form is not connected to an email service yet. Until it is, no address is saved, and the form says so.

The quiz. It runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us. Only if you then give your email address does your result travel with it, as described above. The quiz never asks for a photo.

When you write to us. If you email us, or message Lisa on Instagram, we receive what you send and use it to reply. Instagram is run by Meta and handles your messages under its own policy.

Technical data. Like any website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider, which processes technical data such as your IP address, your browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. It does so to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Cookies and similar tools. The site does not set cookies of its own. It stores one small note in your browser’s session storage, to remember that you closed the bar of buttons at the bottom of the screen. The note disappears when you close the tab.

Analytics, advertising and embeds. None today: no analytics, no advertising pixels, no social media widgets, no embedded videos. The fonts are served from this site’s own domain. Links to other sites, such as Instagram or Le Monde, lead to pages with their own policies.

What we do not collect. No account, no password, no payment details (nothing is sold on the site yet) and no photos.

How we use it

To send you what you asked for: your quiz result, a guide, a waitlist notice.
To send you emails from Lisa, if you agreed when you signed up.
To reply to your messages.
To keep the site working and secure.

We do not sell your personal data.

Who receives it

The email service provider we use to send emails and manage the list (to be named, see the end of this page).
Our hosting provider.
Instagram, if you message us there.
The authorities, if the law requires it.

Nobody else.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we stop emailing you and remove it from our list, except where we must keep a record by law. Other retention periods are to be completed.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Ask us about your data. You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy. Write to contact@colorimetrie.fr.
Questions. Use the contact page or the same email address.

The French business follows the European data protection rules (GDPR), and the rights above come from them. How they apply to you depending on where you live is to be completed.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, change or destruction. No method of sending data over the internet or of storing it electronically is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, the date at the top of the page changes.

Each point below needs a decision by the owner or a lawyer. None of them is written into the policy above as if it were settled.

Who runs this site. Confirm which entity operates it (the French business named above, or a separate US entity), and add its legal form and registered address. The legal notice of the French site gives neither.
Host of this site. Name it and say where it is located. The legal notice of the French site names Shopify Inc. as host of the French site only.
Email service provider. Name it and say where it stores data. The sign-up code is currently written for Klaviyo.
Legal basis and transfers. For visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom: the legal basis for each use, and the safeguards for data sent to providers in the United States.
Retention periods. For the email list, for messages and for server logs.
US state privacy notices. California and the other states that require one: categories of data, the “do not sell or share” wording, how to send a request and how fast we answer.
“We do not sell your personal data.” Confirm the sentence, and keep it true if advertising or a marketing partner is ever added.
Children. Decide whether the site needs a statement on children’s data. It is not aimed at children.
Payments. When a checkout provider is chosen, add it here: what it collects and who receives it.
Analytics, advertising or embeds. If any is added, update the “Cookies” and “Analytics” paragraphs before it goes live, and add a consent banner if one is required.
